The Cuban Horcow

Fidel's Marvelous Accomplishments

In 1959, at the beginning of the Castro dictatorship, Cuba's cattle industry was 450 years old and herds numbered about 6 million head. The meat was good and it was plentiful. Today, after 50 years of Communist mismanagement, herds number around 1 million head and beef is strictly rationed. In fact, all meat is rationed, and Cubans suffer from lack of protein.  The blame falls solely upon the Castro regime, Fidel, Raul and their cronies.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE HORCOW

by Howard E. Morseburg

Fidel, at the ripe old age of 82, has once again startled the world and given communists around the World another great success story. .  Under development since 1987,and kept highly secret, the Cuban government has just released a report that they have succeeded with the first cross-breeding between cattle and horses, which Havana has named the Cuban Horcow.   It is now being cloned (see mooo2.).

Communists have long distrusted farmers, ranchers, and any independent landowners.  In the early days of the Russian Revolution and the turn to communism, they began the nationalization of the farms and ranches.  It was far easier to take over the large farms, but the smaller ones they had to vigorously and harshly dispossess the owners. The Kulaks of Josip Stalin's native Georgia resisted strongly to the nationalization of their farms.  As they met with this resistance and were rebuffed at every attempt, the government proceeded to take the land by force, adopting a policy of arrests, executions, exile and even resorted to the horrors of slow starvation by imposing quotas of production so out of proportion to what the land could produce, that the Kulaks literally had to give their own winter's food supply to the tax assessors.  Even seed corn was taken, so that those types of corn most suitable for the area simply disappeared. If it wasn't enough, the Tax Collectors searched every corner of the land for hidden food supplies.  The death toll was immense, estimated to be in the area of six million Georgians.

Castro's government, from the time of his armed take-over in 1958, has followed a similar policy, nationalization of all lands, which means the transfer of ownership of everything within its' border to the government, and specifically to Fidel. The result of the confiscation of the assets of farmers and ranchers is that their combined knowledge of the most economical way to make both the land and animals  productive, that had been passed on from generation to generation is also lost.  Four hundred and fifty years of traditional farming and ranching methods was wiped out in a generation.

But there was one man and one man alone who stepped into the breech, the one known as Hollywood's genius, Fidel Castro himself.  He and he alone had the full knowledge of every little detail that was necessary to bring both agriculture and ranching to full production. .

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BY HORCOW

The Horcow can help to solve many of the Third World's economic problems, according to Fidel.  In Havana and Santiago they will replace many of the worn out  buses, fondly known as Camels to Cubans and they will be used in teams to pull the 15 seated passenger-wagons on the routes in the more rural areas. On the heavily traveled routes they will use teams of four and six Horcows, using much larger wagons, even double-deckers similar to those used in Paris at the turn of the century, 108 years ago, of course. The Horcow is most adaptable, even when saddled for use in rounding up cattle on the remote ranches.

In the rural communities Fidel proposes that the animal can make regular stops at homes with small children so that someone can come out to pull on the teats and fill up a bottle of milk, eventually bringing an end to milk rationing for families with children.  In this way, the milk will be delivered as fresh as it can be, with natural cream, making a very healthy diet for the Cuban children.  It would take longer for the passengers to get to their destination, of course, but if there is one thing that Cubans have learned under the Castro regime, it is patience, that the future belongs to those who will sit and wait.  They've been waiting for fifty years now, so with extreme patience they still wait.

The development of the Horcow was especially difficult due to the problem they've been having in Cuba these past years with milk production. The farm workers have not been milking government cows properly, so that most cows now have only one or two teats, the others having shrunk away from non-use, and it has now been passed on to the calves, as they all seem to have inherited this trait.  On many, one to two teats are too small for use.

Farm workers are paid at the rate of $8 a month and don't feel that they're adequately compensated by the government. Therefore they work shorter hours, leaving their jobs well before the time set for them in Havana..

When ridden with a saddle, they are found to be smooth-gaited, similar to that of a Peruvian Paso horse.  They also have such a natural herding instinct that they herd themselves to the fields after the morning milking and back to the barns in the evening.

Fidel is planning to send 2,000 of these animals to Venezuela as payment to Chavez for oil he has sent to Cuba, and to develop their own breeding stock.  Venezuelan ranchers, who do not consider their methods as Third World, are alarmed at this proposal, but with Hugo building a machine gun factory, they are naturally conscious of the fact that resistance might be short-lived and dangerous for their wives and children.

Castro envisions them as the answer to Third World problems, as well as a solution to the Greenhouse effect for his nation and others. Truly a divine inspiration, transportation, milk, cheese & butter, fertilizer and high-quality meat when they are too old to pull the passenger wagons.

FIDEL'S VISION

As the production of beef fell dramatically, dropping by millions of tons per year, leading to the extreme measure of food rationing in Cuba, Fidel had a vision one night, one that would lead to the breeding of a multiple use animal, one that provided transportation, meat, milk and butter, and eventually hides with all their uses.  Calling his ranch managers to Havana, he proposed the development of this as yet unnamed animal, holding them to secrecy as they worked closely with the staff of the University of Havana and other schools on the island to develop the World's first Horcow

Fidel expounded at great length (for nine hours) to them, and his knowledge of the intricacies of breeding and of artificial insemination, astounded them.  They then joined him wholeheartedly in this endeavor.  Fidel will earn a royalty on every Horcow bred anywhere in the World.

THE BEACHES WERE FOR THE WEALTHY

"The people knew that free enterprise was social clubs, and bathing in mud for the children because the beaches were fenced. The beaches were for the wealthy. One could never dream of going to Varadero, for that was for a few wealthy families." (Fidel  May Day Speech)

And the beaches are still fenced off to the people, the beaches are still for the wealthy, but tourists now. Isn't there one Liberal with common sense, one who will read Castro's words and understand that the man is totally B.S.

ABUSE OF POWER

I believe Stalin committed an enormous abuse of power. That is another conviction I have always had.( The same abuse of power as Fidel has done.)

Successful ranchers were executed and their ranches expropriated.  Beef production has been reduced by more than 80%, along with milk and butter, since the commies took over in 1959.  Cattle raising was an industry that was self-sustaining in Cuba, until the Communists came. Successful farmers were driven from their lands and agriculturral industry has now been almost totally destroyed.  Sugar cane production is down by more than 60%.  The cattle and sugar cane industries were local, and blame for their utter and dismal failures falls solely upon Castro and his henchmen.

CASTRO'S SPEECH - JAN. 3, 1959

"I should add that, personally, I am not interested in power nor do I envisage assuming it at any time. All that I will do is to make sure that the sacrifices of so many compatriots should not be in vain, whatever the future may hold in store for me.

"In all my dealings, I have always acted loyally and frankly. One should never consider what has been obtained underhandedly and with duplicity as a triumph and the language of honor which you have heard from my lips is the only language I know."  These are the words from the Great Cockroach himself, a man infatuated with his own verbosity.  If Hollywood were to dream up such a script, it would be an extremely funny tragi-comedy.  Yet, Hollywood is fascinated with this buffoon, and that he certainly is. It is a form of Fascism .that has controlled Cuba since 1958, fifty years this year.

"THERE WILL BE NO PRIVILEGES . . ."  FIDEL CASTRO

"There will be no privileges; there will be no privileges for anyone; and the members of the Armed Forces who are capable and deserving will be promoted." (Jan. 3, 1959)

"I surrender my authority to the Provisional President of the Republic of Cuba and with it I surrender to him the right to address the people of Cuba."

Note: Forbes Magazine, after thorough research on the matter, estimates Fidel Castro's personal wealth in excess of $850 million dollarsCuban workers receive 300 Cuban pesos a month pay, which roughly works out at $8 to $10 a month.
